Dear Friends,
Spring has certainly sprung in our little corner of the world and it's the birds and flowers that are doing it for us this season. Lured by the heady scent and dripping sweet nectar of orange, grapefruit, peach and plum blossoms, it's a flowery feast for our flying friends as dragon flies, red robins, blue wren, bumble bees, red-tail cockatoos and of course our much loved local Kookaburras delight in Moondance's organic orchard offering. And it's simply the perfect time to sign up for our Spring Flower Essence Bush Walk to explore the 33 acre native garden wonderland with Moondance's resident Naturopath, and passionate bush flower specialist Phil Straun. Click here to learn more about our wonderful Wellness Menu offerings including the Flower Essence Bush Walk and our Saturday morning Didgeridoo Meditation.
Surf, Spaghetti and SantaIt's only days away until the much-loved Mammas arrive from Chianti to host our very special Mamma's at Moondance culinary celebration this weekend. While the Master Chef classes and Saturday evening's dinner are completely sold out, there's still a few seats available for Friday evening's wine tasting, dinner and food demonstration (AU$95 per person), as well as the more technical Chianti/Margaret River wine ( AU$65 per person) and olive oil tastings (AU$50 per person).
Click here to secure your spot at table for this deliciously fun experience with The Mammas.
Congratulations to all those senoir surfers who braved our local Yallingup break for the Australian National Longboard Championships this weekend. It was a thrill to watch and also to share my morning Yallingup dip with oceanic fifty-somethings who are still doing it passionately!

Orchard to Table at Harvest MoonPossibly our most exciting news is that our restaurant Harvest Moon is growing up and opening its doors to the public! After two years of evolving as a special dining experience for in-house guests only under the inspired direction of talented Executive Chef Saul Atkinson, Harvest Moon is now ready to share its culinary delights with locals, beach-house guests and anyone interested in having a very special dining experience in our stunning Moondance location.
Australia's leading travel journalist, Catriona Rowntree joins us for the official opening on November 20, and from December, Harvest Moon opens for lakeside terrace and restaurant dining on Friday and Saturday evenings, and for a deliciously decadent and sumptuous Sunday Brunch from 10:00am - 2:00pm... all year long.
With very much a slow food focus and enjoying the simple fresh flavours of our abundant Margaret River growing region and pristine coastal area, the experience of dining at Harvest Moon will feature organic orchard-to-table fresh produce grown under the loving care of our Gardener Lindsay Baker. And of course the new wine list will offer a stellar selection of the region's finest as well as some delicious drops produced by our next door neighbours. When making your booking on (618) 9750 1777 or
stay@moondancelodge.com be sure to enquire about our guided Orchard and Bush Flower Essence Walk and arrive with time to enjoy a pre-dinner stroll through Moondance's magical natural wonderland with a glass of local bubbles or wine.
Gongs and BaublesWhen next you visit be sure to view the beautifully designed Mint & co. tourmaline and silver jewellery that's now on offer in our little shop alongside the gourmet produce and Moondance pampering range. Designed by our friend and local resident Sue Smith (formerly from Singapore and London) these crafted jewellery pieces carry strong energy, and look and feel simply stunning.
And finally fingers, toes and angels wings crossed for our good fortune in the upcoming Western Australian Tourism Awards to be announced next month. As a finalist in the Unique Accommodation category it would be nice to receive the industry acknowledgement for the hard work and dedication of our team, however of greater value to us is the increasing numbers of guests who are discovering the very special experience that's on offer down our dusty red road...
Have a safe, sucessful and sensual silly season and we look forward to welcoming you to Moondance or to receiving your call or email some time soon.
Love to you from Moondance
